Minato Ward Spring Karate Tournament
At the Minato Ward spring tournament, which I entered for the first time, I won the senior kata division. It is a small local tournament with 33 entrants in the category, and I was probably the youngest there, which no doubt helped, but it was good to win. It was my first competition in about a year, since I put my back out last year. The kata I used were Jion, Bassai Dai, Jion, Bassai Dai and Gojushiho Sho, in that order.
In kumite I lost on decision in the first round, which left me unsatisfied. I am entering two more tournaments in May, and I will do my best to give everything there.
