Awarded JKF-Certified 5th Dan in Karate
I have received the Japan Karatedo Federation (JKF) certified 5th dan in karate. Karate has two kinds of dan ranks: the ranks awarded by each style, and the certified ranks awarded by the Japan Karatedo Federation. Normally you take the JKF-certified rank afterwards. The photo is with Kijima Shihan of Shotokan, who has taught me for many years.
